Highlights from the Rosemaling Show 2008
Our suggestion to our members for a higher level of quality in their art work was taken seriously; everyone truly came through for the club!
The returning public noticed the positive difference, and first time visitors were impressed. Many positive comments were heard.
Here are some of those numbers:
30 artists participated in the Competition, bringing a total of 63 pieces.
50% of the For Sale Competition pieces were sold.
33 ribbons were awarded
314 items were available in the general sales area
468 items were available in the Husfliden area
8 Gold Medalists brought 97 pieces
19 artists donated 31 items, and we sold more than half.
INRA members entered their painted items into competition. Competition categories were: Professional, Intermediate, Beginner and Golden Agers. Vesterheim Gold Medalists* judged the competition, and ribbons were awarded to the show winners.
*those who have entered their own painted items into the National Rosemaling Competition held in Decorah, Iowa, and have won a total of 8 points to earn a Gold Medal.
Other Show and Sale features were: the raffle, Husfliden, and a coffee shop, Kaffekos, where tasty, home-made Norwegian bakery items were enjoyed.
